Summary: Have been non smoker since May 2007
Comment: Bought this book in December 2006, finally got round to reading it in May, have not smoked since. Btw - I started smoking in 1990 and was a chain smoker, going up to 40 (some days even 60) a day. Am so glad I kicked this disgusting and expensive habit.

Comment: This book really changes your perscective on thinking you are too addicted to quit!!! I've been a non smoker for a year and never look back neither i do not look at smokers and wish i could have one i simply know that i'm a non smoker. brilliant well worht the money!

Comment: I have had problems with alcohol and been a very heavy smoker for many years. I thought it better to try and quit 1 at a time to reduce the stress! Although I was worried what smoking was doing to me, I decided to try and quit drinking first as the consequences of my drinking were ruining my life. I had tried to quit smoking many times in the past and it was too much, I just could never do it. I read the Easyway to control alcohol book, and managed to quit drinking straight away. Something happened to me when I read that book, I knew I'd never drink again. I decided to give the smoking a try straight after.. Friends and family told me to leave it for while, "one thing at a time", I read this book on 27th may (6 months ago) and not only have I never smoked, I've never even wanted to. This book has changed my life! If I can do this, anyone can! My advise is read each chapter and make sure you understand each chapter before going onto the next. Dont be tempted to skip through the book.

Summary: I was worried
Comment: I was worried that this wouldnt work for me. I have smoked for 5 years, and have tried to stop maybe 4 times for differing lengths of time. I would be proud of days that I went a day without a fag; it showed strength of willpower i suppose.


I read the 1 star reviews about this book, and they confirmed what I felt must be true all along - this must be too good to be true. What I now believe having read the book, and extinguished the final cigarette, is that these people do not want to give up. No book, no program, no person in this world is going to make you stop smoking - except yourself.


So the way in which this book works. Well, as a smoker, you are aware of why you shouldn't smoke; i.e. the disadvantages. Smokers don't stop for these reasons though, otherwise we would all be non-smokers.

What is more interesting, is asking you to think (while smoking a cigarette) why you continue to smoke - i.e. the advantages. I can't list them here, that's what the book does, but as you read, you have a massive sense of realisation sweep over you. it is almost as though the truth about cigarettes becomes obvious.

I write this review, 18 hours after my last cigarette, feeling that I should be tearing my hair out dying for a fag. But instead I am feeling very positive about the next few days and beyond. I would recommend this book not just to people who wish to quit, but to people who smoke. The way in which it is different is that it makes you realise all the positive reasons that a smoker uses to smoke are illusions.


As I say ignore the people who say this book isn't that good, it is certainly worth a try. A book is a book, and as an inanimate object it is not going to prevent you putting a cigarette in your mouth and lighting it. Open your mind to what cigarettes are doing for (not to) you.
